Victorious Golden Eaglets Arrive Nigeria


The Nigerian Golden Eaglets have returned to Nigeria on Saturday after an outstanding performance
at the 15th edition of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Golden Eaglets, arrived Nigeria with the trophy after defeating Mexico 3-0 at the final match of the championship to win the cup for a record fourth time.

The champions arrived in Lagos in what has been described as a 'quiet entry.'

Reporters were denied access to the team on their arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The jubilant Eaglets landed in the Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport before hurrying off to Abuja, Nigeria's capital city, where a presidential banquet is prepared for them.

Waiting Supporter's Club members and reporters were unable to get across to the new world champions in Lagos. This however did not go down well with the fans in Lagos.

The Golden Eaglets have received increased match bonus of 7,000 dollars after defeating the Mexican team on Friday.
